Premium Performance

Powering the 2020 INFINITI Q50 is the 3.0L V6 twin-turbo engine. With this engine, you get up to 400 horsepower and it is lightweight since it is made completely of aluminum. It provides up to 350 lb.-ft of torque for a more than impressive throttle response. You can also select the version that gets 300 horsepower for better fuel economy if that suits your needs more.

Be prepared for anything with the available Intelligent All-Wheel Drive, which adapts to various road conditions. The system monitors the speed, wheelspin, and the throttle to make adjustments for improved traction. When all-wheel drive is no longer necessary, the power goes completely to the rear wheels. The result is the feel of a classic sports car with modern performance.

Experience more responsive handling with dynamic digital suspension. The system works by providing a balance between performance and comfort. You can select the firmness of the suspension with just a touch of the screen or by using the switch on the drive mode selector. This drive mode selector offers a more personalized driving experience with modes that suit the conditions and your driving style.

Modern Design

INFINITI continues to innovate and create a modern sports sedan that pleases the buyer immediately from just the first glance. LED jeweled headlamps are accented by the LED daytime running lights. Muscular curves and a sculpted body create an athletic image for this sedan while the broad shoulders and low, wide stance create a powerful first impression.

Improved visibility is just one reason the crescent-shaped windows appeal to buyers. They also create a feeling of a larger space. A bold grille adds a touch of power to the INFINITI Q50 while the 18-inch split-spoke wheels enhance the contemporary style of this model. Sporty meets sophisticated with the curves and angles of the front fascia to create an aesthetic worth remembering with a striking profile that is both stylish and aerodynamic.

Customize the 2020 INFINITI Q50 with your choice of colors. Go bold with Dynamic Sunstone Red or Iridium Blue. If you prefer a more sedate shade, consider Liquid Platinum, Graphite Shadow, or Majestic White. You also cannot go wrong with the mysterious Midnight Black.

Safety

Modern safety features and systems work together to keep you safe on the road. For instance, tech such as predictive forward collision warning monitors the road ahead to warn you before an accident occurs. This system keeps track of the vehicle in front of you to watch the distance and speed for a potential hazard.

Forward emergency braking decreases reaction time by automatically applying the brakes even as it alerts you. The result is that you avoid more accidents. If one should happen, it can minimize the amount of damage in a front-end collision and reduce the severity of injury.

Direct adaptive steering is another piece of technology to improve safety. Steering inputs are digitally transmitted to the wheels for a smoother ride and less effort on the driver’s part to stay in the correct lane.

An intelligent all-wheel drive system provides the power where and when you need it. The system monitors important information, such as speed, throttle, and wheelspin. It applies half of the power to the front wheels when needed for improved traction. When all-wheel drive is no longer necessary, all the power goes to the rear wheels for a faster response on the road.

You can rely on the 2020 INFINITI Q50 to help you stay in the correct lane with modern technology. It’s possible to drift into the wrong lane without being aware of what is happening. You may lose focus because you become distracted or get sleepy on long drives. Lane departure prevention uses a front camera to watch that you stay in your lane. If the vehicle begins to drift into another lane without the signal light being engaged, it will send a warning sound. If you don’t automatically correct, this system will move you back into your lane. Add active lane control to help you stay in your lane on uneven roads or in high winds.

Easily see around your 2020 INFINITI Q50 with the Around View monitor. This view lets you see 360 degrees around the vehicle. Look in the monitor as you park or back up to see all objects within the vicinity of the vehicle. Moving object detection warns you about other vehicles, pedestrians, and bicyclists who are in your path. Use this system with backup collision intervention to keep you safe when backing. In fact, backup collision will intervene and apply the brakes if an obstacle is in your way.

Intelligent cruise control allows you to maintain the same speed while taking your foot off the gas pedal. At the same time, it monitors traffic flow and decreases or increases speed depending on the surrounding environment. Distance control assist applies the brakes in traffic and releases the throttle to keep you a safe distance from other vehicles.

Easily switch lanes with blind spot intervention and blind spot warning for the 2020 INFINITI Q50. As you signal your intention to move into the next lane, this system can warn you of a vehicle in your blind spot. It will even steer you back into your lane.

Along with all this advanced technology, INFINITI enhanced the design of the Q50 to make it safer for you and your passengers. The attention to safety begins with the body structure, which includes front and rear crumple zones with the Zone Body Construction. Seat belt reminders help ensure you don’t forget to buckle up. This sedan also includes front airbags, load limiters, and front seat belts with pretensioners.

INFINITI Safety Shield

Another new technology by INFINITI creates a more comprehensive method of staying safe. It layers the technologies to monitor conditions all around your vehicle, so you can take steps to avoid a collision. This same system helps provide protection if a crash happens. At the furthest point, it shows that no risk has appeared. As it comes closer, it can detect a risk. Still closer, a collision may occur and then become inevitable before it actually happens.

Stay Connected, Informed, and Entertained

Modern technology keeps you connected even on the go in the 2020 INFINITI Q50. Apple CarPlay lets you pair your iPhone with the sedan to access apps on your phone. You can make calls, send messages, access your Apple Music, get navigation help from Apple Maps, and so much more.

Stay informed by turning the 2020 INFINITI Q50 into a Wi-Fi hotspot which allows you to connect your devices to the internet. You can stream music, surf the web, and do more while traveling. Keep passengers happy since this system allows you to connect up to seven devices at once.

You don’t have to panic if you’re involved in an accident. Help is on the way with Automatic Collision Notification. You can use this hands-free call to talk to a live response specialist who can get in touch with an emergency contact or the police, ambulance, or other emergency services. The SOS button also makes it easy to get in touch with a response specialist any time of the day or night.

Buyers of the Q50 get access for the first three months they own their car to SiriusXM where you can enjoy sports, music, news, and more. Add SiriusXM Traffic and Travel Link to find out about fuel prices along your route, parking, current and future weather forecasts, sports scores, and more.

INFINITI Q50 Safety

No matter which model of car you choose, you want to feel safe. The 2020 INFINITI Q50 includes numerous features to keep you safe, using the latest in technology. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has rated this sedan on crashworthiness. For all four of its criteria, IIHS ranked the Q50 as good. This includes head restraints and seats, roof strength, the sides of the car, and the moderate overlap front.

The moderate front overlap analyzes how well the airbags do their job in crashes. IIHS analyzes the measures taken to prevent driver injury to the head/neck, chest, and leg and foot on both sides. The Q50 scored Good for all four. It also scored Good for driver restraints and dummy kinematics as well as the structure and safety cage.

The side crash test looks at driver injury and driver head protection as well as measures taken for rear passenger injuries.

The front crash prevention for vehicle to vehicle is also ranked as superior. This means that the car avoided a collision when tested at 12 mph. At 25 mph in a test, the impact speed went down by 24 mph.

The IIHS specifically mentions four available safety features for the 2020 INFINITI Q50. They include the standard daytime running lights, optional blind spot detection, lane departure warning, and lane departure prevention.

Safety testing and ratings provide consumers with data and information about the safety of the vehicle when it’s involved in a crash as well as how effective it is in preventing a crash. The 2020 INFINITI Q50 scored well, which should provide buyers with peace of mind as they select this sedan for their next car.

INFINITI Q50 Warranty

As with all new INFINITI models sold at Glendale INFINITI, the INFINITI Q50 comes with a limited warranty that provides peace of mind. For basic coverage, the warranty is good up to 60,000 miles or four years. The powertrain warranty provides coverage for six years or 70,000 miles. Federal Emission Performance Warranty and Defect Warranty is good for 96 months or 80,000 miles.

The INFINITI Q50 comes with a corrosion warranty for up to 84 months with unlimited mileage during that time. The limited warranty includes parts and labor as well as towing for any covered issue.

To receive service under the warranty, buyers must take their vehicle to a dealership to have the work done. It’s also important to note that if you add special accessories or make changes to the vehicle, it can void the warranty. Before you alter it in any way, it’s best to contact the dealership to find out if the changes are allowed. Many times, they must be made by certified technicians at a dealership for coverage to continue. Taking your vehicle to a mechanic not authorized by the dealership or making the repairs yourself can also void the warranty.

The battery that comes in the vehicle when it is purchased new comes with its own warranty. It is warranted by a percentage based on age when it fails. For the first two years, the battery will be replaced for free. During the next eight months, the customer would pay 25 percent of the cost. During months 33 through 50, the customer pays half the cost of a new battery and 75 percent for months 51 through 84.

Tires are also covered under their own warranty based on the manufacturer. You can always contact the dealership if you are uncertain as to what is covered and for how long.

Extended Coverage

Many people like the peace of mind that comes from having their vehicle covered under warranty. With INFINITI, you get the option to purchase the Elite Extended Protection Plan, which takes over when the original warranty expires. This plan covers your car for up to eight years or 120,000 miles. Roadside Assistance is also extended.

INFINITI Q50 Accessories

To personalize your vehicle or to enhance the look or versatility of the 2020 INFINITI Q50, you can add accessories. These products can be professionally installed by certified technicians to ensure it doesn’t void your warranty.

Add accessories for the exterior or interior or upgrade your sedan with INFINITI Motorsport items. Upgrade your wheels to 17-inch split five-spoke bright wheels with the center cap. For a more powerful impression, choose the 19-inch split five-spoke bright wheel with center cap in silver or dark grey. You’ll create a sophisticated image with this sedan if you add black carbon fiber mirror covers. They make a bold contrast to many of the bold colors of this model.

Protect your investment with a clear rear bumper protector and a set of four clear door edge protectors. You can also add a signature edition emblem to enhance the sophisticated image. Create a sportier appearance with a sport grille with black center and surround. Special license plates add a personal touch to the sedan as you drive.

Some accessories, like the Radiant illuminated kick plates, protect the car from damage. Wheel locks help to prevent theft of the vehicle. Other accessories are all about enhancing the looks of the sedan and personalizing. Add a rear spoiler for a sporty feel in your choice of colors, from Pure White to Dynamic Sunstone Red. A moonroof wind deflector adds style and function at the same time. Other accessories enhance safety and peace of mind, such as the exterior ground lighting which brightens the space around the car as you approach at night.

Interior Accessories

You can enhance the cabin of the INFINITI Q50 with fabulous accessories. Keep the interior clean with products like all-season floor mats, which are designed to capture water, dirt, and mud to keep it away from the carpet. A trunk mat helps prevent dirt from sports gear and other items from messing up the trunk. Be prepared for anything with an emergency road kit. This kit includes jumper cables, a flashlight, and other tools to help you if you’re stranded away from home. You can also add a first aid kit in case someone is injured in a crash or from another incident away from home.

Stay organized to keep your INFINITI Q50 clean with cargo netting and a shopping bag hook, which prevents items from spilling out of your grocery bags. Keep everyone happy and connected with rear USB charging ports for their tablets, smartphones, and other gadgets.

One of the most beneficial accessories to add to your INFINITI Q50 is the remote engine start kit. Just imagine how nice it would be to start the car from inside your house on a chilly day. The cabin will be warmed up nicely even before you slide inside the driver’s seat.

INFINITI accessories for the Q50 go beyond looks to the heart of the sedan, which is how well it performs. Add a sport exhaust for a sportier ride while a heat exchanger and intercooler tank make the sedan work more efficiently. Upgrade the brake pads to either race pads or track pads for a sportier feel.

You can enhance the INFINITI Q50 in so many ways with the right accessories. Whether you focus on performance, safety, convenience, or style, you’ll find something to add to your new sedan. Best of all, because these parts are professionally installed at the time of purchase, they won’t void your warranty the way using aftermarket parts would.

The History of the INFINITI Q50

This model replaced the INFINITI G model in 2013 when it made its debut at the North American International Auto Show. It was first available to the public in the fall of 2013 in the US. The Q50 went to Europe in the fourth quarter of the year.

The design of the Q50 follows that of the INFINITI Essence and INFINITI M. INFINITI made a hybrid model, the first for an entry-level model for the manufacturer, but it was later removed.

Originally, the Q50 took some of the design elements from the INFINITI Etherea, such as the headlights and double-arch grille. The deep body section and asymmetrical layout of the cabin was inspired by the Essence.

Early models offered the rear-wheel drive or Intelligent All-Wheel Drive. There were also two engine options with the 3.7L V6 and 3.5L hybrid for the US.

With the 2014 model year came two specialty versions. They were designed by American fashion designers. Part of the proceeds from the sales of these editions went to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Another unique feature of the two specialty editions is that their unveiling came at an INFINITI dealership in Hell’s Kitchen.

From 2014 to 2018, INFINITI made a Q50 hybrid which combined an electric motor with a 3.5L engine. However, this model was discontinued after 2018. Along with the Q50, INFINITI makes the Q50L, which comes with a longer wheelbase and a 2.0L turbo engine.

The 2016 model year Q50 features the Q50 Sound System by Bose, which was the first time Bose advanced staging technology was featured in a vehicle. It included 14 speakers, surround sound, noise compensation and navigation system.

Evolution of Engines

The INFINITI Q50 has included a variety of engine options through the years since its inception. The first couple of years saw the 3.7L engine powering the all-wheel drive Q50. The 2.0L was the engine of choice from 2016 to 2019. A hybrid engine was also used from 2014 to 2018. The current 3.0L Red Sport 400 began to be installed in 2016.

The INFINITI Q50 tried out a diesel engine from 2015 to 2016. This 2.2L offered 168 horsepower. The seven-speed automatic transmission has remained popular throughout the history of the model.

In October 2014, INFINITI made an announcement that the Q50 would be part of the British Touring Car Championship for the following year. Th entry would support the charity organization Support Our Paras.

The first Q50 models were manufactured at the Nissan plant in Franklin County, Tennessee. Production for Europe started in 2015.

Updates to the INFINITI Q50

The first update to the INFINITI Q50 came with the 2016 model year. This was the model that first saw the Direct Adaptive Steering second generation. Drive Mode Selector with personal mode was also introduced with this model year. Thee Dynamic Digital Suspension was introduced along with revised settings for the suspension.
